I've been modding recently, and was playing around with DotHalo. I've been using some tutorials off of this website to help me, they're great. So, as appreciation for help.
Here's an extremely rare map I created. Patch for Headlong, btw.

What do you mean by that?
All I see are very basic swaps and skins. And that 5th picture is just a corrupted bitmap. Terrible.

Good job on your first mod. Try doing some more intermidiate things with entity now like biped swaps, model injectings, chunk cloning and such. I rate it a 7/10 for a dothalo first mod...

Haha, I like it. Better than me, I have to wait till the original mechassault gets here.
Nice Golden Warthog text change, made me laugh.

Don't flame someone's work, Prey & others...
Offer constructive criticism and advice to improve it. How will he improve when you offer "Utter Shit" as your comment.
Personally I don't like it, as it's too simple. Try to aim for a theme with your mod, a unique style or something. The population of HaloMods enjoy balanced, quality mods that have had extensive time and effort spent on them. It doesn't look balanced, and I can see you didn't spend a lot of time on it. Just ask yourself, would you be happy if Bungie released this as a new map? I know I wouldn't, with Halo 3 logo's on the floor and guns that shoot Spartans. =/
Good job on learning the basics though, I look forward to what you can come up with next. Keep reading the tutorials, look at the mods that make Outstanding and i'm sure your creativity will take over.

OK, constructive criticism,
1) Ignorance is not an excuse; we have literally hundreds of
Tutorials,
Tutorials,
Tutorials Submissions, Even a
Serenity Repository plus a forum of
Outstanding Mods! Why would you just jump in with a mod, without doing at least some research into what is
actually good.
2) Modding allows us to be creative.. how is tiling the floor with H3 posters, as well as shooting MC's that do nothing, creative
in the slightest?
3) Innovativity. Something we haven't seen done before is always intriguing, we've seen this type of mod far to many times now :-/
4) Immersion. I load up this mod and i just see Headlong, i don't want Headlong, I've already had it for 2years+ now. I need new sky, new sounds, new weapons, new
everything.
[/rant]. Basically, you need to do your homework.

Well...yes I can't disagree with ANYTHING Prey said.
This is one of those mods that beginning modder always tries with friends, and they all love it because they have never seen anything else. Well guess what? If it toke you under two days to complete, then do not release it
here. The halomods community has been around for a long time, and do you not think that they have never seen this before? You said you got tutorials of this site, so you cannot play stupid for that. Sure, I made a few projectile swaps in my day...I may even release my first mod for kicks and laughs, but not here. Im not sure I'll even post a download for it, I may just put it up in the pictures forum.
So please. Before you release a mod, make sure you have spent enough time on it, and make sure there is something new in it. Otherwise, keep the map to yourself, and learn from it.
EDIT:
Here is the first mod I ever released, or finished for that matter

Not bad man. Just read some tutorials and you will get better. Also if anyone flames you don't worry you got people who are there to help cheer you on to get better at modding.
