Sentinel HQ *Test*

First off:
- This is a conversion of the sentinel hq bsp. And yes, I know this can be done in a matter of minutes.
- This is NOT a full mod, but rather a demo for those unfortunate enough to not know how to do a bsp conversion and would like to see the result.
- I know that there are people who are creating mods based on this, in which case, go right ahead. For me, this was simply a test. All I have done to this mod was place all spawns in the same place. As well there is a banshee spawned close by to explore the area.

This is a HUGE map. Basically its a deep snow covered chasm with hangars on either side. Dont know how well it can play in a multiplayer environment, but im sure someone can make it work! 8)

Note: Watch yourself if you fly into the glass-front hanger, because if you continue on past the inside door it might freeze

Edit 2: I see what you guys mean by the annoying sound :? I've heard it happens with all bsp conversions.

haha awesome man. Funny cuz i did this one today. And i didnt have enough time to find the spawns. But that's cool that you did this. And put the banshee near for exploration purposes. I'm interested to see what others can make of the new bsp conversions.

i dont see the challange in it.
the world would be a better place with out BSP conversions... :cry:
next time...do something other then BSP conversion, or do a harder map.
i want to see some one do one with a big challange...

This is a good idea but still guys this is pointless.. If people can do this in within minutes why even post it? I fail to see the point in this there is no challenge you did absolutely nothing in the mod... Why? You trying to get post or somthing? I really don't get these..?

lol honestly tho... since when was modding supposed to be a challenge. And that is why programmers come out with tools like entity, to make modding easier. I can give you a challenge, make a fully modded map from hex. I'll already say i cant do that. And since when did the the choosing of the map make it any harder then the next map?

whats the big deal of mods hardly playable...? i doubt there's anything fixed like gametypes and stuf... i really dont see the point in people posting this, it doesnt get you anywhere.
now continue modding and stop posting testmods people and only release final mods

ps you couldve atleast posted some pics with this :roll:

Stop flaming bro. Yeah he did this and yeah this can be done in like 2 min tops, but show respect. If some1 doesnt know how to do a bsp conversion and would like to modify this map, they coudl easily ask the owner and redo the mod. This aint such a bad idea if this was his idea.

If someone released a mod with a SINGLE biped injection for people who don't know how to drag and drop, and that alone, would you be defending him like this?

Furthermore, none of us were flaming (or trying to). We were simply saying that posting this wasn't really necessary, because pretty much everybody can do a BSP conversion with Entity. And if they can't follow the very simply tutorial posted on the page, then I'm sorry, but that's their problem.

good point.
but a better idea would be making 1 post with all the avalible bsp conversions for guys dont know how to do it instead of making for each bsp!

He was not flaming. Plus I agree with P8ntballer. If you cant do this yourself in Entity maybe you shouldnt even continue modding?

a good post of bsp conversion very worth posting would be if you made your own bst or a halo 1 bsp or a bsp from a map that has a bigger bsp or a bsp map pack....that everyone use and mod for them selves...
just some ideas for next time.

What would be nice is if the converted bsp were made into a playble map with as little modding done as possible and as open to further modding as possible. Like, for example, the mombassa bridge: if it were converted, player spawns added in the most logical way, all the scen things placed how they're supposed to be, and maybe the standard vehicles at each end (and if you're really ambitious, even flag and bomb spawns). It would be great for those of us who have overspecialized in a particular niche and don't know how to set up the other stuff (anybody familiar with my work knows I specialize in vehicles--the funny thing is I don't know how to do a lot of really basic stuff like just spawning a mach and stuff like that).

thats what alot of people are having problems with. There are wholes in the bridge that you fall through and die. Including other stuff.

First off it's Tycko (my actual name) think of it as Tea-co ;) Second off, mods like this help keep the questions to the programers down, which might not affect most of you....but it is very hard to get anything done when you have a bunch of people im'ing you (which is ok...) but when somebody makes something like this to help people out who don't have the same line of thinking as the program makers should not be flamed, or even reprimanded.....

thumbs down, whats that annoying sound, and unless
you add stuff... everywhere whats the point of an empty map
but dont get me wrong it has patential if you were to add
bridges, weapon spawns and etc.

I agree i dont like the sounds because they get annoying. Thanks for the banshee though even though it seems like you get nowhere even flying that lol......but if someone does make a mod out of this, it would take a long time...There would definitly have to be pelicans/phantoms and like 50 other vehicles because its so huge. Definitly alot of rockets with all those vehicles and lots of snipers too.....but it'd be cool if someone could do all of this and make a vehicle warfare map

Also have you noticed there seems to be no banshee barrier in these bsps? So is there a string,tag, or reference built-in (or not built in) that is different than MP....just a thought.

Another good thing about this is that some people may have bad luck or crappy computers that freeze or fail to transfer stuff, *coughWindows98cough*.

Those doors arent exactly Hangars, they are where the Gondolas travel through to get to the library.

You'd know that if you actually played singleplayer and not rushed through it on easy once.
