map: Containment - Chain Of DOOM

this is the first patch i have uploaded here at halomods.
this is not my best mod but it is the funniest
.
basicaly when you either fire the bruteshot, throw a plasma grenade or destroy a fussion core the explosion spawns three plasma grenades, these three new grenades make three new explosions and the chain starts up again but 3 times the size.
the horde of grenades get three new grenades with each explosion and its only a matter of time until it starts moving around the map as a kind of entity consuming anything in its path eg. vehicles, turrets and YOU.
be warned tho if the grenades get very close together your xbox will lagg like a bitch.
the ONLY way to stopping this chain is to either end the game or turn your xbox off.

since it was your grenade to begin with does that mean id get a medal for every single plas nade stick? if so then thats orsm

yes you do get the kill if you start the chain, its so funny when your in a large group and everyone keeps getting killed by the grenades

I just had a thought...this mod + Midship...oh that would be crazy. But on another note, just tried this out, fun mod.

Chain Spawning is fun, until the lag starts to kill the box, Good mod though

OMG... If you had some way to stabalize the amount of grenades..
There'd be like 60 being launched around the map, and I can picture the guy who started it.. Rolling around laughing like a giddy little school girl because he has like 8000+ Stick medals

well there is a limit to how much stuff you can have in the game at one time but when the game reaches that limit your allready lagged to much to notice. lol

U could always mod the effect to not be as...effetive
that way it wont lag until much later...
eg
use the rocket launcher eplosion and only use the the fire.prt3 the rest arent needed like the smoke and such...
But yeah do it on midship

i just tried applying the patch to midship but it didnt work
. i dont even know why i just tried that, i knew it wasnt going to work, im just that bored lol

i have allready take off allmost all the effects from the fussion core explosion and it still laggs
.
about putting it on midship, my insulence wont work for some reason so i cant move stuff over to make it work

make the brute shot have 60 bullets per shot, make the bullets plasmas, then make the plasmas chain spawn into 1 plasma, then it will just be 60 on the map. well untill everyone shoots a brute shot then there will be a ton.

Plz, no double posting. Great first mod! I like chain spawning a lot! It's so much fun until it lags

! He was making it back when the clan SNM was still here. The mines had the best chain spawning effect ever! Man, good times

i know what your trying to say but it would never work because, as you said

The only logical way to limit chain spawning that I know of is to prevent recursion - that is, having the effect of one projectile reference itself. You could make like, 3 projectiles, the first references the second, the second references the third, and the third doesn't chain spawn at all.

Thats awesome! The only problem is when theres to many of them, they dissapear. And when they get caught in somewhere they cant get out the fun stops
lol. But good mod. Coag would be good for this

I like this mod but i made it 2 months ago and decided to not release it afraid of being flamed.....But good job anyways(insert smiley that has a big big smile).
P.S. My mod was based on chain spawning...
