.:Up-to-date tutorial on how to apply serenity patches:.

Post by Habitat_0 »

Programs needed:

Serenity v2.01
FlashFXP
Some sort of map resigner.

Steps

1. After downloading the serenity patch. UnRAR the file by simply right clicking and choosing extract here.
2. make 2 folders on desktop. One called Source Map. Then one called Output Map.
3. Take your back-up map. [EX. Zanzibar] and copy and paste it into the 2 folders.
4. Now open serenity and go to the apply tab.
5. For the patch choose your .serenity
6. For the source choose your map that u put in the source map folder.
7. For the output choose your map that u put in the output map folder. it will ask you if you want to replace the existing file or whatever. just click yes.
8. then hit apply.
9 sign your map.
10. ftp over to your xbox.

Hope this helps out anyone that was confused. :)

No, that shouldnt effect the common sense when something tells you EXACTLY what to put in the slot.

Serenity v2+ writes the proper ES when applying a patch just incase. But if the patch was created from the same source map, and was already signed, there'd be no need for it.

Actually, you just need to make a folder on your PC, put the map files there (I keep them all in there), click the Setup tab, put the folder in the Local path option box (or click the ... button to select it)...Go to apply, open the patch, it will automatically fill in the other boxes, letting you know which map it needs to be applied to...If you want the new map added to the main menu, it should have a different output name, the checkbox under the mainmenu tab should be checked, and all those fields entered...mainmenu.map should also be in the maps folder you selected...Apply, FTP the new map and mainmenu (if you modified it) back to your xbox, and you're good to go...

Serenity v2 verifies the ES in the modded map when creating a patch, so it will always be correct when applying...If it's not, it'll warn you...Should you choose to continue, it'll resign the map for you...
