yes i know hex but what it gives me is all the locations in the xbe which he modified and i dont really want to go through all the hex

Well the source will be encrypted because some of it isn't mine to give out...the parts that I'm open-sourcing have been coded by me therefore okay to give.

The screencap source was ported a couple of times, originating from the guy that hacked DOA. While it isn't secret, it's still not mine to give and I wouldn't feel right saying I made it especially since dootdoo helped me out a great deal in understanding how it all works. There are also some other small bits of info obtained by kornman00 that will be asterik'd out. Everything will be commented, you just won't have the addresses to that information ;x

You mean there was a screencap trainer for DOA? Or was it something totally different, or was he working on something similar but never finished?

So is this code more or less applicable to every game? Just dumps the framebuffer somewhere?

No, you will still need to change things around. The framebuffer itself is always constant, but the functions needed to write the file aren't.

Well yes, I understand that all games aren't the same, but what I meant to say is that a good portion of your code can be recycled for use in other games and engines, correct?

Correct, it would take 4 changes in the function addressing, then you would have to hook into the xinputgetstate() routine for the igks...thats another 3 changes.

Great job. I'm glad you released it instead of keeping it for yourself. And you were willing to spend your time in figuring out how it works and making the trainer. :wink:

Do a hex compare of the bitmaps...unless XIG compresses they should be the same besides maybe certain header parts.
