There is no reason to even mention 3volved in this topic. It is about his mod nothing else. You should work on some other things that make the gameplay alor more fun like AI and like most said the textures tile so fix that and try to make the mod fun not just some effect edits and skinning. But i haent ever seen any other mods of yours so from what i know its your first so i give you umm.. 6/10.-Treetoad- wrote:It's a sign... that 3volved should be releasedDarkshallfall wrote:Wow there really is no reason to come to the DL sections these days.
I'm sorry to say, but the skin is questionable...I'm liking the effects however
Well said...Phaile wrote:You guys need to tone down the flaming a bit.Darkshallfall wrote:Wow there really is no reson to come to the DL sections these days.
If you really think theres no reason then don't look in here. No one wants to constant flaming when its not deserved.
He said it was his second skin. No one is that good that right when they start with photoshop they will make amazing textures. Yes some of the bitmaps are tiled but that could also be part of Foundation's problem, seeing as how many people have ended up with tiled skins on this map.
And Dark, personally I have seen a couple mods with an AR in them, but whats the difference between having a couple of mods with an AR in them, and a couple of mods with a battle rifle in them. If it makes the mod more aesthetically pleasing and more fun to play then so be it.
Maybe its just me but many people that are on these modding teams such as Acemods and Remapped seem extremely cocky because they've made a good mod or two and its really starting to get annoying. Theres my two cents.
Now onto the mod. I think the effects are pretty sick but could be toned down a little bit. They all just seem HUGE. Also, the elevator and teleporter things at the top of the map are a pretty cool idea.

Yeah sorry i just go a bit to far every-now an againTural wrote:Topic cleaned. Dec, I'd appreciate if you didn't derail a thread with unfounded claims, censor bypassing, and blatant flaming.

Mod is OK could do with less tiling of the textures and a little more credit for the usage of my assault rifle

*Sorry For Flaming*

for a second skin its okay, but check that seamless skin tutorial it will help.also your effects are cool but personally i like my guns to shoot out bullets not laser shows. personal preference, not a flame. Other then that it wouldnt be too bad to play with some friends at a lan party or something. but keep at it.
Signature over width limit and may not be animated.

Lol... tileless >_>
I love that impossibility... well... not impossible really... but pointless? yes...
Hummm... actually...
I SUPPOSE a Hi-Res Bitmap and a plane could make it ORSM though (to borrow from SG...). I REALLY need to make a skin that way someday soon... it would be just... sexy...
Well buddy... I don't mind what you where attempting to do with your skin but you need to get more practise in making you textures... nicer to look at. They really do have to much tiling in them. To reduce this you can try lowering the contrast of the textures when you make them, also try to errrm... make them seamless. Do this by offsetting the images (theres a filter in Photoshop) and then using a clone tool to bled in the seam lines. Basically this makes it so that all the edges... fit. Like a puzzle. Major differences in colour or dark and light spots that are unbalanced (or even balanced for some things) will create a very... tiled texture. This is what lowering the contrast can help you avoid, but this can also "bleach" out all your colours so maybe you could try to... shrink the pallet of colours your using so they are all similar/blending... Ah well... hope some of this made sense...

Just because its your second skin really means nothing. Before I ever began skinning I made sure to research it very thoroughly. What was the result? Awesome skins like Futureville, Dawn of Warfare, etc.
Anyway, to improve I would suggest looking around and taking note of very well thought out and themed skins. There are plenty of them around.
I would work on creating your own textures. I can help you if you are truly willing to learn. It isnt a difficult process to learn, it just takes creativity and knowledge of different tools.
Overall I will rate this skin at 5/10 for effort. I'm not a big fan of large flashy effects that don't go with the theme of the map.
