Plateau v1.2 - A 'new' Halo map | UPDATED 6/19/04
Plateau v.1.2
More cover added in the middle of the map. Some spawn points moved onto the ledges/ground. Makes capturing easier, b/c it was WAY to hard in earlier versions.
Plateau v.1.1
In v1.1, a few small changes were made. A sniper rifle was added on the distant hill with the oversheild/camo; All 'holes' in the tree wall were fixed; and all incorrect spawn points were moved.
Plateau v1.0 - A 'new' Halo map
I, personally, am a huge fan of CTF @ BG and was really sick of people making severely unbalanced mods with ridiculous weapons, so I decided to take the matter into my own hands. I wanted a level similar to BG (outside; medium-sized) and not as big as Sidewinder. So this is what I did...
After applying Stinger77's 'Spring Sidewinder' mod, I sectioned off a part of the level using trees as walls and repositioned the flags, teleporters, vehicles, weapons, spawns... EVERYTHING; and I didn't change any projectiles or anything about the weapons. The result is a level that is EXTREMELY balanced (both teams are equally as far from all powerups, rockets, flags, etc), easy to make, and a TON of fun. The level doesn't even feel like you're playing Sidewinder, it feels like a brand new map. There is no lag and Slayer/CTF are the only games supported. I hope everyone enjoys this map as much as my friends and I do. PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY! IT WILL BE WORTH YOUR TIME!
PS. Sorry about the bad digi-cam pics; They don't do it justice. The gameplay is where it's at.
PPS. This map is for CTF/Assault ONLY! If you want to go ahead and make it for other game types, by all means, do so.
PPPS. Include this in the NMP!!!! haha.
Thanks!

Hey, i'll go through all of the trees today and try to fix it. Was he able to just jump through? or did he crouch/warthog jump?
And Powerpak, I was going to use the building blocks as the walls to section off part of the level, but since duplicating the trees wasn't giving me any lag, i figured they looked better than blocks would anyhow.

if you do put blocks behind the trees, you can just null out the link to the bitmaps of the blocks in HHT, then you would just have an invisible wall of blocks to prevent people from going past.
I haven't even played this mod yet though, so I don't know how much of the blocks would be visible anyway, but that should work.

Although a good idea, i fixed the problem without having to use the platforms at all. Besides, whenever i applied the platform modd with this mod, it would freeze.
Check out the new version!
And, will someone PLEASE AIM me at screename 'joesbadday' to play this over xbc? I really want to give it a try over that.
