Blood Gulch - Hang em high in the sky

arright this is my first mod

i used xoranges blocks to build a copy of hang em high above blood gulch's surface. i touched on everything in the readme but theres a few things i want to mention here:

-this mod is NOT finished... i just wanted some suggestions for now
(catwalks are an issue[dont laugh, i used rocks]
( lag is an issue [but try using a big fan on an opened xbox - it reduces
lag immensely])
(floor stability needs work and alignment... i am aware)

theres other stuff but its still pretty cool to run around in

took about 5 days i think...
somewhere between 4-6 hours after work each day..
i dont exactly know though...
i started it friday and finished it tuesday wednesday ish

if you downloaded it and ran it on xbox please tell me if it
worked at all and what you think, thank you

OK i just played it. i was gonna take some pics but theres so much to look at it starts dissapearing...it also lags quit a bit, maybe you could add some fog? as far as being able to see so much, i'm not sure if fog will redice the part about visuals..

maybe whoever made the blocks would consider makin bigger ones for the floor and walls.... would make things soooo much better.

well... to help a little you could take away the ramps leading up and just have teleporters... just a thought.

yea... i know... =)

but its not enough to make a difference really... and i liked the idea of hiking up there... and the bunker entrances... i dunno... just felt like keepin them... its why the red entrance is not a tunnel... it was the last thing i did

Unfortunately it's not as easy as it seems like it might be, but I'm sure it's possible.

...and I'm thinking I might try that fan thing...or perhaps just find a couple fans that will fit and install them in the Xbox.

ya i wish it was perfect... it would just be fun to have both maps, both perfect, in one place... now imagine.... hang em over the blue bg base, a catwalk to outside, over the rocket launcher, and into chill out! oh man... funny

well xorange thanks man! take ur time though, i completely understand that it is difficult. i still couldnt tell you how to remove the sun from a map... so yea

and i just realized something... its minor but in the readme with the download - it says the carnage report is slightly different... well... its not (i dont think anyways)
im pretty sure i forgot to include it in the map file i used to create the ppf...
im sure it will end up in my next mod... and ill probly do one for every mod i come up with from now on... ok thats it for now peace

dude dont make it so perfect! For that little pole that comes down from from the cat walk going from the red base 2 the blue, u dont need 2 make bushs just for get it and dont put it in. try 2 make it alot like HEH but doesnt need 2 be that exact. :) But i do love how u made a stairs coming from the tunnel below the blue base up 2 the top. :)

ahh the bushes... i merely thought it would be funny =)

really what i wanted was to get the idea out there... hopefully people will end up making more maps... maybe it will lead to further upgrades in map editing programs too, i dunno

im glad you like the new entrance to the blue base, but did you find the one for the red base as well? its entrance is just hidden a little better

yeah i found it its right behind the ramp and it goes up behind the red base i also thought this was cool. i also found 1 more thing u can jump on top of the rock on the blue base and u will telleport 2 the sniper rifle spot. just for a udea dont make the catwalk all rocks.


oh yeah and nice job on the map :lol: :) forgot 2 say that.

yea, u can also jump on top of the rock of the red base and get to the sniper perch... if you read the readme you would have found that out ;)


i think i covered everything in that readme..

u say dont use all rocks for the cat walks... what do you suggest i use?
