Elite Civil War is here!!! I'tll be comming in parts


Map set:
This is all the MP maps patch to play elites. These patches dont implemnt the new build so if someone just wants to patch a cache file from HCE on the xbox to play it for a while. EXCEPT SIDEWINDER

If you want to turn this into its own game you will have to edit ALL (except SW I think) the patched cache files in a hex editor to change the build number. Its like the 4th line down, looks like this.
Ex.
"01 10 12 2276"
change the "6" in ASCII to a "3" so it should read... "01 10 12 2273"

do this with EVERY map before compressing.

Heres a map list for compression (use SparkEdit)

UI:
ECW_UI.ppf - This is the decked out UI made for the MP games... there are also Easter Eggs... can you find them all? No need to change build.

XBE patch:
Heres what makes it all work. Patch the retail .xbe off the game disk and then rename it to "haloecw.xbe"

Now your xbox should look like this under you Halo Dir on the Xbox:

OPTIONAL: NMPtoECW.ppf
If you want to run this in the chain with Halo NMP, patch the CACHE version of the NMP 1.1 UI to add "HaloECW" to the bottom of NMP...compress... DONT change Build... and transfer bak to you NMP dir.

Now your xbox should look like this under you Halo Dir on the Xbox if running NMP:
/Halo/
/ecw <- ECW maps
/maps <-retail maps
/nmp <- NMP maps
default.xbe <- retail xbe
haloecw.xbe <- ECW xbe
halonmp.xbe <- NMP xbe

that is a real pain in the ass to download all of those, rar em together and host em at halomaps (hxbdev is out of space) and maybe you should get it to work with HMPi?

edit

okay i just glanced at the HMPi directory and i think i already know how it works, take out NMP and CXE ppfs directorys and ini's

all of your ppfs have to have example ecwbloodgulch(bg)(wz).ppf
the map the ppf goes over and the map its renamed as

and the haloecw.xbe.ini is easy

DisplayedName=Halo eCW
MapDir=ecw
BuildVersion=01.10.12.2273
DemosPath=haloecw.xbe

and you put the ppf of the changed ui of the orginal halo in maps

COOL, just a few questions: are there any other changes besides playin as an elite? and is the animtions for throwing grenades fixed?

HMPi is a Halo Map Pack Installer.

If you DL NMP 2/CXE (which you havent because you dont know what HMPi is) is will auto install the mappacks.
First it FTP's to your xbox and download the .map files, UI and the default.xbe to your pc. Next it auto starts to make the new maps, compreess them and changes the buildnumbers, then it will FTP the whole mappack back to your xbox and your doone.

All fully automatic, you should check it out!
Great app, and it will be released so that people can make their own mappacks :!:

i checked it out... not a bad proggie! your more than welcome to do it and post to Halo Maps for me if ya want... just give credit.... anywho the NMP2 interface kills mine... looks nice!.... and i'll prolly get kicked off HALO MODS for using up so much space.... i'll be working on a single player ECW story line... "rebel elite" now i gata get bak to my C programing class so i know what shes talking about.

okay everything is done!

delete everything in the ~input folder expect for make-dir.bat
paste the contents of Elite_Civil_War.rar in and it should work
you can get to orginal halo from ECW but not the other way around
and wizard doesnt work, becuase there was no ppf supplied

if there is one released then add it to the ECW folder as wizard(WZ)(WZ).ppf

wow i figured out to get this working in a few min,

depends what you may with work with NMP 2 CXE
if you want it to link in a chain to one another then you have to edit some stuff, if you want it in the same directory then yeah i'll work

has anyone noticed that the build is actually .2274 and that prisoner doesnt have elites and is a different map completely
