Here's my latest creation for BG. Hope you like it as much as me and my friends do! I'll try to get some pics up by tomorrow.

Flood Gulch v. 1.0 by swese44

Well everyone, here you go. Water in Blood Gulch. I believe I am the first to get it on Xbox. Here's a complete description of the mod:

Water!
Rain
Looping rain sound
All new level textures redone
Sentinel laser weapon (gun model is the 1/2 size model of a sentinel)
Gigantic mossy rocks
Darker sky environment
Starry night sky with green clouds and night halo ring
Warthog has a new skin and big mud swamper tires. The gun is now a rocket launcher, oversized barrels shoot 3 rockets simultaneously then pauses. Also has blue lights.
Ghost has new skin
Lilypads on top of the water
Mist particle emitters
Green drips effects on bases and near sentinel laser guns (in the hills)

One of the coolest parts of the mod is the effects. I spent a lot of time setting up the water effects for the vehicles, projectiles and grenades. The visual and audio effects are pretty nice, you'll find out when you drive the warthog, skim the ghost along the ground, shoot rockets and throw grenades in the water, shoot bullets on the ground, etc.

One (really) dissapointing part of this mod was the flood characters. I originally had it so you would have played as the Flood Combat Elite biped, which was awesome since they can jump higher and have cool sound effects and dialogue. You could also shoot off their arms and heads, something that added a twist to gameplay since you couldn't pick up a gun after your right arm got shot off! :) The problem was that the Flood can't walk backward, strafe or get into vehicles. I tried forever to get them to work, thinkreddie gave me some good ideas but no luck, then I gave up. Pokecancer let me know that it would be impossible to give the Flood full motion because they don't have the animation triggers for the movement or to get into vehicles. So as soon as I learn how Swamp Fox made AI spawn without vehicles, I'll release another version with Flood AI trying to kill you.

If you want to check out how the mod would have been, playing as the Flood Elites, check the box that says "no damage from falling" for the Flood biped in HMT, then copy the meta of the flood elite combat biped to the cyborgMP.

I couldn't get the sentinel laser gun to have a fp model or the correct string entry, so if you wanna fix that for me let me know. MrMurder, you might wanna check that out, weapons are your specialty.

Well, first I've seen posted. I've heard that people have done it but no one's been able to get it to look right. Did you get it to look this good?

Actually yes, but this isn't "real" water, just some blocks with shaders on them, still good job. I'm sure NMP will make a map with real water in it.

Ya, that would be awesome to have water with its separate environment under the surface. I haven't figured out how to get that yet. The problem with the water I did is that there is no collision model so you can't have all the standard water effects for the surface, I had to just add effects to the surfaces around and below it, but it still turned out pretty good though.

Ya its nice effects, and a maybe put a recticle on the sentinel gun so its abit easier to aim. :D GJ

the silent cartographer, halo, and 343 conversions all had water :o but still, nice job ^_^

and about the ai...im writing a bibg advanced scenario editation tutorial that will have ai, door control, and trigger stuff in it

Ya, I guess I didn't think about the SP -> MP conversions, I was thinkin about the MP levels. Can't wait for that tutorial!

RunningRiot made trashbash, you can find it here in the xbox ntcs files forum. When you inject using HHT4, it creates new tags so it doesn't overwrite anything. The problem is that it overwrites it in the "blank space" at the end of the cache003.map file. The blank space isn't actually blank though, Halo actually writes random 1s and 0s in the blank space, so when you apply a ppf with new tags added, the ppf will change some of the 1s and 0s to 0s and 1s instead since your uncompressed cache003.map file was different than mine when I created the patch.

Long story short, run trashbash on a clean BG cache003.map file, then patch it with Flood Gulch.

i think this is an awesome mod! i love the effects! great job man! sweet hog weapon too. i still dont know how to make even that type of water.

This is a great mod...i love the "water" and the big rocks...but just a few things...could you make the rocks less "smooth" they just look to shiny (the big rocks) and give the beam gun a FP and it would rock and i know your working on it...So every thing looks great :D :D
