no I cant just make some magical patch for something that I cannot even reproduce. I have tried to figure out the problems the some of you are having but I dont know. Please post info like dash version and wether or not you have tried completely cleaning out the cache drive before running it. Did the installer hang up? What is not working in particular? Specifics, etc etc etc.
There seems to be number of people that have been having trouble getting some of these maps to work. The only problem with that is that none of the problems have apeared to be consistent with each other. Its exactly the same package for everyone. So why would it work for some and not for another.

Well, my default dash of course is tHc (thank you Jbone!) The ONLY problem ive had is the betrayal and truth maps wont do syslink. Split screen is fine, just ABSOLUTELY NO SYSTEMLINK but everything else is fine. Well, actually only other thing is that Mambassa wont stay in sinc during system link but I chalk that up to the map, not the installer. Hope you dont confuse this with complaining angrycamel, cuz what you did was beyond cool. We are all in debt to you (and all the others involved in making this happen).
*btw ive erased my copy of halo 3 times and re-installed and still get same result. Nada.

I dont really take offense to anything or think that you are all complaining, I just ask that you phrase your constructive criticism in a way that is helpful by providing all necesary info for me or anyone else to be able to reproduce the problem you are having.
Its not me being picky, but simply the only way for me or anyone for that matter to be able to really figure out whats going on.
Thanks heet for the info. I have not had any experience installing with that dash running. HMPi only officially supports one dash and that is the most recent version of EvoX. That does not mean that it will not work, but only that Reddog and I did not sit down and purposely test it with those dashes running. If you have the most recent EvoX, run it and see if that helps out. It probly wont fix a problem with syslink not working but its worth a shot.
I had Betrayal and Truth both marked as syslinkable in my research list on page one. Thats odd that they are not working. Can anyone else attest to that as well?
NMCx probly doesnt compress because of the flamethrower. It has been known to knock games out of sync. Thats why it was removed from Fissure Falls in NMP2.

excellent map pack
Thanx AC! Downlowded (and seeded for quite awhile) this pack before the weekend it installed perfectly over my existing Halo copy on my hard drive.
I then used someone else tip in the thread and added new instances in Evox to access all my different map packs right from Evox.
So far every map has worked, no DDE, As for Syslink I think we (my sons and I) tried every map with no problems. I'll have to double check Betrayal and Truth to confirm if they syslink.
Thanx again for this awsome release, and thanx to everyone who worked the *sses off making the mods for this pack.
cheers,
Zed

Thank you for the great feedback! On that note, I would like to take this opportunity let you and everyone else know....
It is nice to have the packs in the evox menu but if you are one of the ones that would like to use the game demos link instead, then download the new patch on page 1 of this thread. It is a rar with 2 patches inside that make use of HMPi for ease of patching. First run patch 1 to fix the game demos links (assumes you have NMP2 installed - if not then you must mod the ini files to suite your particular setup) then after that has run, simply run the patch 2 and you are finished. Full support for the game demos link structure.
Enjoy!
Here is the patch for convenience: Game Demos Patch (Final)

This is without a doubt the BEST MAP PACK EVER!!!! congradulations AC you are truly the hardest working man on the mod scene atm!!! If I can make a suggestion for your next project: A small map pack, maybe even smaller versions of each conv map!!! It is my guess that the vast majority of us have one or 2 people we play halo with regularly, and the most played regular maps for this are small ones like HEH and Wiz, (we had a blast on the CE tutorial level!!).
hi, i would also like to experience this, but at the rate i'm going with the torrent it will be another 72 hours, i was wondering if anyone would be able to send it to me through AIM, ir an ftp server thanks!

Thanks for all of the kind comments, they are good to hear after working on something for so long. I hope that the map developers are happy as well with how this project turned out.
GoatNinja - Good to hear from you again. I have submited a news thingy to xbox-scene.com 2 times and still nothing. Maybe they like to see more than one person submiting. I don't know, but it seemed that we had not trouble getting NMP2 and CXE up there as soon as it was released. Maybe I need the high profile name like UltraMagnus or NMP... lol.
I believe someone posted how to do the EvoX menu items a few pages ago.

How to set up your torrent app for best download speeds:
You have to have your settings optimal for downloading a torrent. I am new to it as well and the forums at suprnova.org helped me out a lot on figuring out how to get the fastest download my system will allow.
The general rule of thumb seems to be as follows. Take your upload rate and divide by 8. The result is what you should have your upload speed set to. So if you have 348 up from your ISP then 348 / 8 = 43.5 kBs is what you should set your upload rate to in your torrent program.
An important bit to keep in mind though, is that you should never max out your upload when trying to download a torrent. It will choke the download not allowing it to talk to the seeders. You must leave about 5 kBs or so breathing room. This goes for any net services running on your machine that may be using the upload bandwidth. If the torrent doesn't have enough to talk to the seeders it will upload all day but only be downloading a small ammount. This is what it sounds like a lot of you are seeing from your experiences with this torrent.

PS - Thanks for all of the support, MrHyperPenguin!

i get this error when i run the installer. everything went well till the end and i got this. is this normal?..........................
Error:Failed to upload C:\xbox modding files\games\AC's Conversions Map Pack\ConversionsMapPack\~output\conv\wizard.map
i put a fresh copy of halo on my box with dvd 2 xbox and installed it to that. i dont know what could have went rong.
*edit*
i just tried to play the game and it said i didnt have enough space left to store gamesaves. i have like 300+ megs left on my box. could this be the problem?
*edit again*
after removing a game from my box so i would have enough room, i went to play the game and it was just regular halo. i guess the error kept it from working. ah well, ill try again tomarrow.

Strangly, I get the same error. Anyway, if it doesn't upload automatically, just leave HMPi there as is (without pressing OK on the error message), go to ~output, and upload all the files to your Halo directory on your Xbox.mykl wrote:i get this error when i run the installer. everything went well till the end and i got this. is this normal?..........................
