i guess once we have confirmation of all the mods we'll start with the ui, i'd like to get as much variety as possible, and i will definitely need help for the actual work as i don't know the first thing about modding, i'm just trying to get everyone working together... this is more about getting the modders' work recognized and i'm not going to deny anybody's participation (i don't even want to make any decisions on this.. this is YOUR map pack, and you guys will collectively decide)

ww3

Post by junit0524 »

yea i made the ww3 mod, i crammed so many changes u cant open it in spark edit, you can compress it though if you use HME and then a Size Editor, only takes about 30 seconds to compress that way, thats actually how i compress all my maps. I am working on WW3.5 actually which might be released sometime tonight or tomorrow and i guarantee it will be a must have in all map packs, have to spread the word about size editor and HME. WW3.5 will have planes, hummers (not that Humvee mod actual Hummers i dont like using others mods so i dont), turrets, new sounds, new base symbols and flags (red=all USA, blue=all Nazi), changed weapon projectiles, new vehicle names, background sounds, MC commander skin, and more!

Hog em high mod

Post by thescottishguy »

Hey goatninja, i only just checked my Pm's so i hadn't seen your msg, feel free to include my Hog em high mod, credit should go to JoePo for the mod that got me going on it (mine is a derivative of his mod) I can also supply an interface icon for my map. I would recommend selecting a new build number for the HMP pack so as to avoid the problem that happens when someone running regular halo tries to join and the game loses sync.

HMP isn't really going to be a the final name.. just a suggestion, we should probably make it even more different from NMP, any suggestions?

Just thought I would drop by and let you know that if you can make mod pack's a standard like the HaloNMP v1.0 set. We over at XLink would be more than willing to give each mod pack it's own arena, custom OnJoins and lots of other fun things :) http://www.teamxlink.com

The main point being that you NEED to have it be a standard so people know ONLY to play that mod pack in the arena much like our current NMP Arena.... You will notice the onjoin states what the arena is for and that it is only for the NMP v1.0 map pack. This way we don't have all the sync issues with incompatable maps.

When the next Official NMP pack comes out, the onjoin will be changed to say HaloNMP v1.x ONLY
or v2.x or whatever the next update to the official pack may be.

Map packs are the best way to keep things uniform, and get your maps played online as well!

Keep up the great work! All of you! :D

.....One more thing. I am noticing many of you have maps from each others packs included in your map pack. We need to try to make each map pack diffrent so they don't include maps that other packs have. Thanks!

the build number issue will help with the lost sync problems, i have to agree about content though, map packs should be the cream of the crop, NMP certainly is, and i also like murders idea of having a modded version of each map, no dupes (although a new map would not count as a dupe i'm sure, even if it's built over BG)

*NOTE TO EVERYONE: PLEASE KEEP CHECKING THE FIRST POST AS I AM UPDATING IT REGULARLY!!

Thanks for your support DIE-HARD!! always count on team xlink... you halomods guys should check the forums there... just as friendly as halomods and has the same 'growth of the community' frame of mind!

I don't plan on putting any of magnus's maps... all maps will be voted on but definitely no crossover. Ultra is actually going to be more directly involved in this than me, i'm just trying to organize the voting and stuff, he's going to make the ui!!! He does have some things you can do to help, but i'm a little sketchy on the details... an icon for the map interface plus a description of what you want it to say. I'm sure when there is enough support for this he will appear!!

goatninja, per your asking, you are more than welcome to use my Speedball mod in the pack. I'm thinking some credit should be given to Ultra though since the original Snipeway room was his.

Damn, I love Halo. :D

hey, just wanted to say I love this idea and I'm glad you chose my/scottishguy's hog em high mod.

I also see that you liked my Torture Chamber mod, I will try to fix it up a little this weekend so you can have a better version (if you decide to use it) as the current one has a few bugs and needs tweaked a bit.
