here it is fixed. it also have a recursive checkbox but that doesnt really work. it will save all immediate dependancies for whatever you select but not theirs too.

Wow, another update so soon, niice. Btw- I'm still having trouble injecting larger objects. How am I supposed to inject something like say a tree if there is nothing big enough to replace it with, the new Xinject doesn't have a feature where you can write over more than one model like your versions of HMI did.

oh ok, so that feature is still to come, I'll keep trying. But do you know why after it successfully injects it doesn't show up in SparkEdit, did I miss something? Also when I tick the recursive box and try to export something like say the pine tree tall from the SP Halo level I get an overflow error.
EDIT: I had a feeling that was the problem. Thanx poke.

Hey poke great work as usual however i've run into a problem.
Im trying to inject the panel (buildingblocks) in2 sidewinder using the flag base to inject over.
I get the model showing up in se but the when the map loads the panel is there with the flag base collison model??? what am i doing (or not doing) wrong.
Thanks for your time.
Oh and how the hell did you manage acdabg with all the stuff you added you had to have injected bigger models over smaller ones or two models any chance of explaining how???

well you have to inject their collision model and link it from the scenery meta you are importing. then swap that scenery with some other scenery.
i did a cold day manually. i injected 2 or 3 models over one there sometimes. i wound up using the plasma pistol, needler, and flamethrower models for extra little stuff that would have been a waste to inject over a vehicle.

Great now i just have to figure out what you just said and im rolling????
Look poke im crap amd new at the model injection let alone all the reflexives/fixing the whole thing is just not sinking in i need a whole load of tylanol and caffine before i can hit ctrl+c to add stuff in se so i need a total beginners guide if you got time.
Ive tryed the tutorials online but they all explain this stuff expecting you to have some knowladge which i do not have.
And nope before you say it where was i when the first halo moddin was going on using hex, I have to say i was where i am now just shaking my head going "how the F*!k do they do that.
Whoa im raving again sorry man just real pissed that i cannot get importin right.

Yeah I hear that, MaCeGaC has taken over an hour of his time to personally train me on AIM and he still wasnt' able to cover a lot of the stuff yet. :-/ I think a good n00b guide to model injection would really help a lot of people. I too have tried every tut that I could find and it still just leaves some things a total blur.MrMurder wrote:Great now i just have to figure out what you just said and im rolling????

|T|u|r|b|o| It's my anti-drug.
Absoloutly man ive been trying for hours and hours with help from various sources and to no avail i either get a perfect model (proiding you dont want to stand on it) or one that is so shy it crashes the whole game when you get close?
A real noobs guide to model importing would be a godsend im seriously considering going to halo pc at this rate but i would hate myself forever.

i'm going to try again to clarify what to do.
1. open your map you want to import from.
2. go to the model section.
3. click save meta.
4. open your map to import into.
5. go to the model section and find something to overwrite. i like to overwrite flamethrower and needler models.
6. click inject meta.
7.it will ask if you want to inject the raw data so tell it yes.
8. your model is inject but we have to fix the shaders. if we click on the model(whatever you overwrote), we can see the dependancy list pop up at the bottom.
9. at the top of the list there will be a bunch of unknown dependancies and then at the bottom you might see some leftover shaders from the previous model. you can ignore those but the top ones need to be fixed.
10. click on the top one and beneath the dependancy box is a box to choose what you want to link it to. pull down the list and choose something. click swap.
11. repeat 10 for all the top shaders.
12.done injecting model
ok so your model is in there but not the rest of the stuff the model uses. like its skins, collision models, shaders or antr. the model has dependacies that link to its shaders which link to the bitmaps for the model.
if you wanted to import scenery for instance you would go to scenery tag you are importing and look at the dependancy list. you need to inject all things it needs too and all the things they need and so on in the map you are importing to. so you have to inject a lot of stuff to get a perfect vehicle or character or scenery. the model is just one part of what needs to be injected.
i hope this helps.
if problems persist, try my old injector and tell me what happens.
