Log-in restarts

Ok, so I power on my laptop. It gets to the log-in screen. If I wait about 1 minute, the computer justs restarts. The cycle repeats until I log in. I want it to stop doing this as it is really inconvenient. It is Windows Vista Business x32. Any ideas on how to stop it from doing this?

Well, I don't have experience with Vista yet, so I don't know whats wrong.
Try booting in safe mode.

Even if that did work, I would need to do it every time.

I had heard that Vista was having problems with constant restarts and that SP1 was supposed to fix it.

It may be a driver error, but then again I would think it would restart at any time.
Do you have it set to go into sleep mode when your not using it? That may be causing it to restart instead of just sleeping.

No. Whenever I am not using it, a screensaver starts.

there may be an option in the control panel to shut down/sleep after x seconds idle at the login screen. i say search through control panel a bit, since this sounds like a setting and not a problem.

But
restart at the login screen?
If this is the problem I wanna know who the guy is that thought, "Hey! It'd be neat to have the option to have the computer go into a reboot cycle if you're idle at the login screen. I'ma programz dis."
Have you tried turning off the login screen? Or are there other users that so that you must login through there?

I have to go to the screen because there are two other users.
I've decided to do try the Windows 7 Beta and use it over Vista. There are a few other critical issues I have besides this login-screen problem.
