System freeze with Flash?

Sup.
So I've got my HP Pavilion dv4t. ...and every time I use Flash with it, the system locks up 30 or so seconds later.
I literally have no idea why this could happen. The Google hasn't helped me, but I'm wondering if HM's collective brain can think of something. Halp?
2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, Vista Home Premium x64.

Well here's yer problem right here, boy-o.
Kidding.
I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling flash; if that doesn't work, I'd see if maybe it's the browser you're using.

I guess I could try it out with Chrome. I've been using FF. I tried a reinstall of Flash, and even tried going to Flash 10. No change.
Hmmm...worked perfectly fine. I guess I'll use Chrome for the time being. I never considered using an alternate browser, thanks.
EDIT: Apparently not. It froze overnight for no reason. : /

Do you mean Adobe Flash? Or are you doing something with your BIOS?...
I dun understand... >.>
If it is Flash, I've had problems with Flash in Windows for a LONG time.
If the swf file is embedded, does it still stall? Or is it only when you try to open a swf stored on your PC?
How does Internet Explorer respond to Flash? Same lock ups?

I'm pretty sure now it isn't Flash primarily.
I was copying files from my laptop to desktop through a network connection, and it froze on me. Twice. In the same spot. : /

If it did it for flash, and then for a file transfer, i'd try doing a repair install. right now it seems like the common factor in both of those problems is the TCP/IP stack. hell, maybe even something between vista x64 and your NIC.

I used one of those fancy driver finding programs, and then went around and snagged some drivers that it recommended.
We'll see.
