Well, I'm going somewhere for a day and I'm bringing my laptop. There is super fast Internet there and I like to take advantage of it. Now, there isn't a router anymore. I tried connecting the wire from the modem to the back of my laptop, but I couldn't figure out how to get access to the Internet... I would like to access it this time. Any advice?

I can't really make any simpler.

The place I'm going used to have a router that I could connect to wirelessly.
Now it doesn't, it only has the modem cable that used to connect to the router.
I want to know how I wold connect the cable from the modem into my laptop to gain access to the Internet.

That wasn't vague at all.

Try disabling you bluetooth/wireless on your pc.
If that isn't the problem then try a different ethernet(yours might be dead :D) cable or look online for some tutorials to see if ur doin it rite.

I'll try disabling it. I don't see how an Ethernet cable can die... I could never seem to get a direct connection to a modem to work.

Plug the Ethernet wire into your laptop. The other end of course goes into the modem. Shut down your laptop and unplug the modem. Leave both off for 30 seconds. Then plug the modem back in, let it get stable again. Then turn on your laptop and try it. If it doesn't work then... you know.

It got it to work with A LOT of difficulty. I wish you replied sooner, but it works so problem solved. :)
