Increase Download Speed?

Hey.
I was wondering if any of you guys know how to increase download speed without needing to tap into your router, or without needing to buy faster internet. I wanted to speed mine up and heard there are some methods out there.
Any ideas?

I did some simple google searching and found that more than one site reccomends a program called Download Accelerator, you can find it here:

I'm not certain of the legitimacy of this program, or how it works for that matter, but from what I've read, it seems like it's safe and efficient. Hope this helps.

I've tried the Download Accelerator before. It works a little bit, but there really isn't a solution for faster download speeds without getting a faster ISP. Try some Internet optimizers and see if they help.

Flashget does wonders...
Works great with Rapid Share simply put in your usr and pass in the program and it lets you download premium Rapid Share REALLY fast...
Also, un-capping is easily detected now a days and highly un recomended

I already use flashget and get the same speeds I normally do.
And download accelerator didn't do anything either.

The uglier you are, the slower the speed you get from your ISP.
They especially don't like douchecakes.

And I don't like people that steal my word.
Also supposedly my ISP has a plan 2-3 times faster, for 5 dollars less. ;x
I haven't updated my plan in years so heh..
I've just been wondering what could be done till my unreliable dad decides to call my ISP, as it's bundled with our phone plan aswell, so he'd need to handle that..

Most download accelerators are just a scam. If you are trying to download something big, download it overnight like I do and then you can play with it when you wake up.

That doesn't help with what I want to do. I already do that if it won't download in time.

I have a free one that does good =/ Its called Download Accelerator Plus.
I've scanned this with a $200 virus scanner, nothing is hidden inside.
It downloads at average 300-600 kb/sec on my comp

I hate when people talk bullshit, but look download aceleraters work by splitting the files into smaller parts and sending them through, this makes the files transfer much faster...
I gain about 50kbs using flashget, which in my case is ALOT for my internet speed

Well, I guess you have your fix now?
Just stay on top of your Dad about calling them.
Talk him into it by saying that it'll make it cheaper for him, and both of you guys will benefit from it. (If he uses the internet...?)
