Quick advice...

Just wondering if anyone's ever had their PC laid in a horizontal position, one that's designed to stand vertically, and had any problems by doing so?

I've just moved out, and need a little extra room which could be achieved by laying my PC down on it's side... just worried if it could cause problems with any hardware, I'm thinking perhaps the disk tray may not work well being laid down.

I don't think laying it down should be too much of a problem as long as it can still get plenty of air circulation. What kind of computer is it, and what kind of disk tray does it have? Those are the only things I can imagine being effected.

orientation shouldn't be a problem at all. i would personally open up the CD/DVD drives and see if they have any rotatable tabs on the trays. when you turn it sideways, you're supposed to use these to hold the CDs in the tray when you open/close the drive, but it's no big deal, and some drives have tabs that can't be moved anyways.

Just test it with a CD you don't care about first. =p

Get a rack-mountable case and put all your tech stuff into a rack. It's way more awesome that way.
