Looking for a new laptop

Post by xbox »

What is a good laptop that can play Halo with absolutely no problems and look good for around $1,000.
At least 2 gigs of ram and 60 gigs of internal memory.
64 bit processor (turion preferred)
And comes with Vista.
Also, can someone post a link explaining how to set up a duel bott with XP and Vista?

Once you are under the "notebooks" section, click on Versatile Performance. In there, it's the HP Pavilion dv5z series (second one in). Then hit customize and buy, and change it to your liking.

Really only $600?

ATI Radeon(TM) HD 3200 Graphics
256MB ATI Radeon(TM) HD 3450 Graphics
how do those stack up against a radeon 9800 pro?
Is this a good laptop for minimal gaming? The only games a plan to run on it are halo and unreal tournament 3.

This. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopp ... v5t_series

I swear its the best priced high end laptop you will find anywhere, configure it with the 9600gs and you can play crysis on medium

Even without that for 800$ you get 3 gigs of ram, a new Rosa core 2 duo processor, also a webcam and a 250gig hdd, and a dual layer dvd burner.

Not totally sure on this but seeing as there are some problems with 64bit drives and apps and such I prefer 32bit, this after reading bluray drivers had problems with 64bit among other stuff. Only choose it if you order 4gb of ram

About the 64-bit driver problem...it doesn't exist really anymore. I have all my drivers and my hardware isn't the newest. But he is right about the 4GB minimum thing. If you have the money though, get the 64-bit version (I have it as well with only 2GB) it offers a lot more protection and overall you could adapt to a new environment (you don't notice at first sight though).
...left for good

How much do the 32 bit and the 64 bit systems cost?
If it's more than $50 more then no.

Oh, then 64 it is.
Also can you post here or PM me when your laptop gets in and give a review?
I probably won't be buying for another month.
