Computer Crash - Help

Ok, I was just using my laptop PC a while ago and just doing my normal things. All of the sudden, BOOM! The screen goes black and the computer just shuts off. I press the power button to turn it on again. It turns on for a second, but it just turns off again before it could even reach the boot screen. The fifth time I try it, the computer turns on normally and I go back to my work. Then it happens again... And again... And again... No error messages, nothing. Just turns off and I lose my work... Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Clean your ventilation fan area.
I had this problem with my desktop computer, and sure enough after cleaning all the dust it was normal again. It shuts off as a safety mechanism so it doesn't overheat and burn crucial components.

That is what I was thinking. It does get so hot that if I put my hand under the laptop, I can burn my hand. I'm curious why it gets so hot... But since this is a laptop, I can't really clean it without taking it apart, but I'll try something.

Just buy some compressed air and blow it into the rear fan/heat sync.
Feel free to post a picture if you need help.

It seems to be working fine now. But the laptop is relatively new and it shouldn't be full of dust. I've had it since November 2007.
