Well I have 1 gig of RAM, and everytime I am on my computer for more then 2 hours, It suddenly diminishes. When I right click no menu pops up and sometimes it craches apps. Also if I try to do something in a porgram it will crash, and my computer will keep beeping the windows alert tone untile I close a program. This only started since christmass, and has never happend befor.

Just to cover the basic, have you done both a virus and spyware scan?

possible a chip on the ram has died?
if youve got a bad chip it would crash the machine or freeze it due to the data bus not knowing whats going on.

true, sounds like you might have some wonky ram. if it's one 1GB module, that's pretty bad, but if the 1GB is spread across multiple modules, try booting with different ones pulled out and seeing if you get the same issue again so you can tell if it's something wrong with a specific RAM card. otherwise, maybe there's something physically wrong with one of the sectors in the HDD that the swap file is usually at?

Test your ram

Free download. Put the files on a cd, and boot off of it.

Or your ram is easily over heated. Try getting a atax motherboard if you dont have one already. Those are built for cooling.

That could be a possibility, Ill have to test my RAM, then if everything is as it should be, ill move my computer and see if that changes anything. Thanks :D
