Dual Boots

Well basically im setting up a dual boot between XP and Vista. I want to know if I can have them on the same partition?

If you are on a mac the answer is no. If you are on a PC then the answer is probably no. I am not sure but I don't think so.

One thing you might wanna keep in mind and I'm going to warn you...

XP will always install the boot sector on HDD (0) Part (0) which is most of the time C:/ right now for you. So if you reformat C: and you have XP on let's say D: you are going to corrupt the installation (like I did...).

I also found out, for right now, I cant run programs on my XP partition from my Vista Partition. Does that make any senese to any one?

That's incorrect. I did that...it worked for some programs at least that weren't registry or OS dependent for instance.

Well I found out any programs that add Dll's to the system32 folder will crash. I lucky got a message that specifyed wich dll it was from AIM. But for VS it will be a bitch. This also kinda defeats any purpose of having a dual boot :?

Well yeah why would you want to run VS across OSs? :P
