Best viewing on an OpenGL graphics card??

Ok, so for some reason, whenever I start Halo up on my computer, my monitor becomes all green. And the only way to fix it is to go to my graphics properties and change the color settings, but that's not the point of this thread.
While I changed the colors today, I saw the 3d settings tab there and looked over the settings inside of them. I was wondering which would be best for viewing Halo on it because I remember playing the xbox version a couple days ago and the graphics were a little bit better than my computer's. If you need to see what my Halo looks like in-game, just go to my Laser Sight thread in the CE downloads section.
Anywho, does anyone know what these things mean and what I should turn on and off? Thanks
