Camera + Webcam program?

I was wondering if there was any program that lets you use just a regular camera with a USB cable as a webcam? I searched google, I couldn't find anything, the things i did find were shown as dangerous in Norton. Any help?

The camera has to support broadcasting its signal via USB.

Just curious, but what is that called?

I'm seeing if my Canon Powershot S400 Digital Elph supports that, but I can't seem to find it in the manual.

I have 2 at home...both CyberShots and neither do it.

Yeah, it can't do it. Though, it can do Timed Interval Shots, every 5 seconds to 1 hour. It's pretty cool. Bunch of other stuff without RemoteCapture. too.

Reason it can't do video is because of it overheating. According to Canon, that is.
