Alright, I am sorry if this is in wrong place first off.

Now on to the questions.
I just installed a softmod using the mechassault game on the standard xbox harddrive. I would like to add halo 2 maps to my xbox but i had a few questions.

1. dose halo 2 need to be ripped to my xbox?
2. seeing as halo 2 is too big for my xbox. can i upgrade my harddrive? if so how would i get the dashboard on my box?
3. id like to add the kiltrocity mappack and some maps by deltahalo . is this possible without having halo 2 on the xobx?

I'm new to this so please explain and terribly sorry if this is wrong area to ask.

The first thing that people are going to do is redirect you to...

(1) If you would like to mod the "old" maps that came with the disc, you will need to back up Halo 2 to your harddrive, using a tool called DVD2XBOX.
(2) It's not needed, Halo 2 will be backed up to your harddrive, but a few maps(such as Zanzibar), will not be fully backed up. As in, only half of Zanzibar will be backed up, so the map won't load. Backup/Replacement maps for these are easily obtainable.


And it is allright for you to ask this question in this area.

If you have Unleash X you can just make a folder called halo 2 in E:/Games or F:/Games then copy the files from D:/ into it if you want only multiplayer maps copy over all files but the map folder then create a folder called maps in you halo 2 folder then copy the selected maps from the halo 2 disc's map folder.

Dont copy any of the campaign maps cus there way to big. These ones have numbers in front of them.

and u may not recognize these maps: 'mainmenu.map', 'shared.map', and 'single_player_shared.map'

however, you WILL need those for it to work

Alright I can switch to Unleash X if i must. I have evolution X right now.
so basically i should copy all the multiplayer maps and mainmenu stuff as well to the xbox.
my question would be if i were to add a bunch of maps to the xbox and modify the mainmenu and everything when i stick in the halo 2 disc and start up it will be different ? or will it be the same as whats on the disc. how would i go about this?

The disc will not have changed. But when you add the maps and necessary files to your Xbox, you will be able to start the game without the disc.

When you insert your Halo 2 Disc, nothing will have changed.

no, u can keep Evolution X its not much different than Unleash X (layout wise) and they can both do the same things

alright, i have gotten all the original maps and stuff on the box but im confused . how do i add containment and all that to the folder. its on the box as in the original downloaded place but i do not know where to move them for them to show up in game.

after i am done that i would like to install mr murder night winder 2.
i wanna add it to the main menu and keep all the original maps but the tutorials are confuseing me help would be apreciated.

u mean u want to add containment to ur mainmenu, or put it in the same location as the others ... i sorta dont understand.

as for adding Nightwinder 2 to ur mainmenu, use Serenity. pm me, ill tell u how.

Alright , sorry i can try ot explain better.

1 . i have all the halo 2 downloadable content maps but noone of them are in my menu . i would like to put them there.

2. i would like to add a map such as nightwinder 2 to my main menu without overriding any of the old maps.

3. i dont know much so great help would be aprciated thanks.

Do you know where your maps like Containment, Relic, Terminal, and the other DLC maps are?

yes iv found them on the xbox and there currently on my pc now seeign as i FTP'd them and left them on the xbox as well
