Virus or something?

Post by hollow121314 »

i was trying to find a program to record video in doom 2. Fraps doesnt work right (i get 3 fps for somereason) so i was searching for more. I found one and i went to install it and nothing really happened until i restarted me PC. a message came up saying "Windows File Protection: Files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unknown versions; Windows needs to restore these files to function properly." then it says to insert disc 2. I never got any XP discs when i bought my pc so i dont know what to do. I ran many virus/spyware scans and nothing its not detecting anything. I have noticed my computer is taking a lot longer to boot up, Things take a long time to load, and my cpu usage goes to like 40% and my pc lags for no reason.

I tried system restore but its glitched or something (the calender doesnt work)

That is your problem. Don't download limewire. I suggest doing system recovery and recover it to the point in time before you installed the screen recorder.

It shows all the dates but i cant click any of them accept the current date.

Edit: i can do my dell system recovery i think, the one where you start from day 1 (ctrl+F11 at the BIOS screen) but i REALLY dont want to lose all my music, games, apps, etc.

Edit 2: I just ctrl F11'd my pc and i lost everything :( but its so much faster its amazing
