[Halo PC] custom gametypes from Vista to w2k3

Post by k2_1971 »

Got a weird issue here, maybe some of you can help me out...

I'm starting up a Halo PC CTF server. I used to run a couple of 'em back about 4 yrs ago when Halo PC first came out. I had no issues making custom gametypes, and importing them from my machine to the server. Back then I was running XP.

Now, I'm on Vista, and I've hit a rather annoying roadblock. I can make the custom gametype no problem, but haloded.exe expects the path to be 'c:\documents and settings\**username here**\my documents\my games\halo\savegames\...' - under Vista, it's now c:\users\**username here**\documents\my games\halo\savegames...'. So, copying over the custom gametype from vista to w2k3 does no good, because the encoded .lst file has a different path vs. how haloded was installed. When ya try to kick off haloded with the custom gametype, it tells you it's unknown. Trying to trick haloded by creating the path as it is on Vista doesnt work.

What I need is either 1) a gametype creator/editor that lets you specify pathing, or 2) have someone out there with an XP machine to make me the gametype I need. I'm thinking #2 might be alot easier, but being able to edit my own would be nice.

Thx in advance for any help you all can offer.
