MTU Error
MTU Error
I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I was playing Xbox Live one night and the power went out. My 360 is plugged into a surge protector so it should be fine, but it is not. Ever since I lost power I have not been able to connect to Xbox Live. I keep getting an MTU Error. I really have no idea what this means, only that it is really frustrating. My connection is wired and the Xbox is able to read it, and I have never had this problem before.
surge protectors don't always do the job my family's computers are dieing due to power outages and we have surge protectors we just lost a mother board and 2 hard drive so it was probably the power outage.
that is as far as i can help you but it might be because a sudden loss of power while you were assessing certain file that may now be corrupt, i do not know much about xbox's so this is a guess.

thanks for the sig dagger12 ill give you something someday, maybe.
it may be that your router was messed up somehow in the power outage. try unplugging it for 15-30 seconds and trying again, or resetting it to the factory defaults (meaning you'd have to go through and re-do everything you configured)
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

MTU is a pain in the arse. I set-up my friends XBL and router for him (I love home networking; its so awesome. *cough* rather put a fork in my eye *cough*). MTU was an issue we overcame. But yeah, just either reset the router or use your browser and go to your router's software utilities (accessing the router itself), and just up the MTU if you need to.
