Well, anyway, to the point, I have a LiquidVideo 17" LCD and the backlight's cutting out after five seconds. It comes back on when I turn it off/on, or when I remove and plug in the VGA cable, but then dies again.
I've narrowed down the problem to be in the inverter itself. It's not the LCD (it works fine and can be seen with a flashlight) and it's not the lights themselves (I've tried a multimeter and it reads nothing after the five seconds)
However, sometimes, I can get it to stay working for a very long time, and it stays on and doesn't die, but when you turn it off and back on, it dies again after five seconds.
It may be that there is a problem with the starter (the thing that gives the lights that initial jolt, which also keeps it on for the five seconds) in that it won't trigger the main power (because after being started, lights like these require a lot less power to stay on)
Anyway, any help would be great.
