Halo trial screwed up bad

i downloaded halo trial
installed it
then decided to mod it
didnt work and now says gathering exception data
uninstalled it
reinstalled it
still doesn't work
copied files off of friend whos laptop plays it.
copied it onto my one and still it says gathering exception data
pissed off as I just want to play the original again!!!
