Is the Xbox 360 Intercooler safe to use?

As far as I know. My friend uses one and nothing bad has happened.

I use an intercooler and it does nothing but keep my XBOX 360 running at its best! Never had any problem with it!

Lol I sound like a noob but...

what is an intercooler? Does it like Make it where it doesnt over heat, which I think makes your game freeze.
