Lock Folder

Post by xXxCocoFangxXx »

Is there a way to lock folders on a computer? Like could I put a password or something that only I can open it with?

Not with folders that I know of, but you can with a WinRar archive, and just keep your stuff that you would like to keep secret in there.

I was wondering about that too...

With a Google search, it looks like I've found a program that can do it: http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/

Otherwise, I guess you could make the folder hidden and change your settings to not show hidden folders (Of course, you would have to undo this change every time you wanted to browse that folder).

Not without third party software. If you google "lock folder" you'll get tons of hits.

I did find a pretty good application that can do it, it's free too. It's called AxCypt, it will encrypt the folder of your choice and the files within it.
