What do you mean? People using AIM sniffers on you? You can't stop that, because it's THEIR computer.
But if you're afraid that it's running on your computer, a simple Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Task Manager should let you see if there's a process you're not sure about.

maybe investigate into ways to encrypt your aim traffic. i don't know of any, though, and the aim server would have to have it enabled as well, so chances are there isn't one (although it can't hurt to try...).

other than shadowkhas's advice, i'd say run a virus scan or something, i'm sure those would pick up some sort of aim sniffer.

i guess i'll be back when i can think of a way to narrow it down using who's locking with a specific .dll or something, but then again a standalone sniffer probably wouldn't use one (if it did it would likely use winpcap, although i believe that's a driver not a dll...)

AIM Sniffer?

sniffer would mean it captures data off of the network interface in the computer (whether it's a wifi card or built-in ethernet jack) then filter through it to find only AIM traffic, then probably format it so it would be easy to read. after that, it could store it in a hidden log file, or send it off anywhere on the internet.
