[PC] Shoot flames from a non-flamethrower weapon

I know that the flamethrower is a special case weapon because if I swap the projectile meta for the flamthrower with any other, the flamethrower has no contrail.

I believe the flames are part of the flamethrower itself, like a "lens flare" or something. Is there any way I can transfer that to another weapon, say, like a warthog turret?

My second question is...how do you adjust the length of the flame (not the lifespan of the "flame projectile", but the visual flame)?

Yes it was, and it was an unanswered question about this. Also, no, it was not how to make other weapons fire the "flames" projectile, it's how to shoot flames out of other weapons. I have seen no answer anywhere to this question. Is there no modder who knows, or none who understands the flamethrower enough to provide an answer?
I've already created a flamethrower-like projectile using the ghost's projectile, but it still doesn't look like the actual flame.

Does anyone know how to add more dependencies to a weapon's dependency list (preferrably without PMI'ing)?

It's actually a partical effect. And only the rocket launcher and flamethrower have those (to my knowledge).

Particle, Particle system, or effect?
