Halo PC on vista troubles

OK well i got Vista & said "Hey Im'a buy halo for it" so I did & the graphics were awesome but there was lag & sound glitches. Well yesterday I found out what the prob was, Halo can not run properly with a NIVIDIA graphics card. I was like "ok" so I read how to solve it, it said I had to turn of the FSAA but I had no clue how. I knew what that was cuz there was a window that used to open before halo started when I was on a mac. This window let you choose fsaa, model detail, run time demo, allow console, ect. But isn't that supposed to open on a pc too? Maybe its just cus im on vista. So how do I get that window 2 open before halo runs? Does halo pc even have that feature when put on vista? If so, can anyone tell me how to make that window show up? On mac the window was called "Halo Graphics Settings" or something like that. Plz help me.
