Freezing at the beginning of a game!

ARGH!!!!!

Is there anything I can do to stop the frequent freezing Halo does at the beginning of a game. Sometimes I can CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it and restart Halo but most times I have to restart my computer. I have reinstalled Halo several times and it has not helped.

Can anyone help me?

Is it when you start Halo or when you start to Play Halo? If it's when you start a new game are you loading stock maps or one like AotCR? It could be your computer or something like a messed up bitmap.map file. Keep us posted.
