[EDIT::I'm not a moderator, I shouldn't tell other people what to do]

It's spam, and I can at least tell him not to say that, moderators....kaptainkommie or whatever.

Anyways, yes you use SparkEdit 3.01, which, if you don't already have, you can get here, along with the video about SparkEdit :

http://downloads.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=961

now, select Edit, Move around on the mpa, click on one of the boxes that is outlined in red, then hit swap, and look for scenery/trees/tree_leafy_fallentrunk\tree. Click on it. Taa da! You now have a log.

No problem...just, next time, private message me with your questions or post all the questions in one topic. Believe me, I had the same problem too except that I flooded the topics with mod ideas and a moderator had to lock em all and put em in one topic.

Dedicated Server Network Errors

Hello,
I run a Halo Dedicated server (version: 01.00.04.0607).
I can have lots of people joining and playing happily, until someone joins with "0 ping". Suddenly there are severe lag spikes, everyone leaves and there are network problem errors to everyone but myself as I am connected to the server via. the local area network.
Could these users be intentionally crashing the server or could it just be an error?

My server configuration is as follows:

Code: Select all

sv_name "MFF Killing Grounds"
sv_public True
sv_maxplayers 8
sv_rcon_password gam*****
sv_mapcycle_timeout 15
sv_mapcycle_add bloodgulch ctf
sv_mapcycle_add timberland "team king"
sv_mapcycle_add damnation "team slayer"
sv_mapcycle_add dangercanyon ctf
sv_mapcycle_add carousel slayer
sv_mapcycle_add gephyrophobia slayer
sv_mapcycle_add infinity "classic rockets"
sv_mapcycle_begin
I haven't noticed it being anything like the "8th user to join". It just randomly happens when a certain user joins with what appears to be 0 ping.

0 ping usually means when someone isnt fully connected to the server yet and that the server cant correctly show their ping because it's either not available, or extremely weird.
But usually these people arent intentionally crashing your server, it happens when someone has got some weird connection... You notice these things alot when playing in C-S and H-L.
But im not sure what to sayon how to fix it though.

I also run a Team Fortress Classic dedicated server which has always run fine. Perhaps it is just a problem in Halo's error catching.

Maybe they'll fix it in the next version :)
