hi,
i want t orename a bunch of things, but it won't work. i read this tuti in the "56 faq" thread:
7. Question: How do I rename something?
Answer: Open up your UI.map with Hex Workshop. Then click on find and check "text string" Next search for whatever you want to rename. Ex. "Warthog"
Keep looking until you find something that looks like W.a.r.t.h.o.g. Now replace those letters with whatever you want it to be. To delete, just put a space where the letter is. (The name can't be longer than the original)
nw, i tried HHD Hex editior, Hex Wrkshop and XVI32, no one of them found anything. i typed the strings with dots, w/o dots, i used hal2wingdings for cnverting the string (like told here: http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=53177)

edit: in the maps i can find stuff like "picked up..." nw, but no vehicles or stuff like "press ... to pick up/to pilot..."
even not in ui.map, noly the picked up stuff.

culd anyone help me? thx!

I don't know which halo your talking about but you said UI.map so I'm presuming Halo 1. If you want it to say Hold (?) to get into Jeep, open bloodgulch or the map and search warthog. If that doesn't work then do w.a.r.t.h.o.g and you'll read on the right side, hold (?) to get into warthog. You can type what ever you want. There is 1 rule though, odnt extend it longer. You can make the name shorter but dont make a name longer than warthog. Hope I helped

Hold on I'll try now and see what I find

Edit: I don't know, I've only changed weapon names, not vehicles. I found all the weapons but no vehicles. If you need help with weapons I can help you there.
