HaloUpdate Problem

Ok when i load mp on a halo it searches for updates like always, but once it finds one and loads it after shutting halo down it says it cannot load the update becuase i'm not a computer administrator. I am the only user on my version of XP and i am an administrator. whats wrong? I've tried loading the patch (1.04) and it says halo is not installed on my comp. Somebody help i miss mp!
