Rar MP3's?

OK, I wanted to put all of my iTunes music on one CD! That is in MP3 format. And when I put all of my music on my project list on my burning program all of the music totals up to be 724 Mgeabytes amd I have 701 on the CD. Is there a way to make the music a little smaller so it can fit on one CD?

Also if I put all my iTunes library into a rar file and put it on a disc when it gets done burning, when I pop the cd in a MP3 player of some sort will it be able to play the music if it is a rar?

i do not believe cd players can play .rar files. sounds like you should just take some of your least favorite songs off the burn list. but if u had an mp3 player, they generally hold more than cds.

no, and i dont think standard cd players can support mp3s either (thats why they have mp3 players and handheld cd players) i think some cd players can, but its not standard

There are different compression standards for MP3 so if you really want to fit all the songs on you could 'down-code' your MP3's to have a lower bitrate, meaning that the filesize would go down, along with the sound quality. If I were you I would just take some of the songs off the list because low sound quality sucks.

nah, i think i have some mp3s on cd that play fine in every cd player/boombox i put them in. besides, the rar won't work because it's a compressed archive. your cdplayer will take one look at it and go "wtf is this?"
