what is PAL and NTSC???

I hear about modding called PAL and NTSC but I have no idea how they work. Can someone please tell me what kinds of mods you can do and how you mod with them

pal and ntsc are different types of xbox

PAL = the European standard of Television
NTSC = North American standard of Television

If you live in one of the following countries, you need PAL.

ohhhhh I see now. I looked on the box cover for my halo and it said NTSC. I get it now. :D

That is a completly false statement. As shown by Narker.
To elaborate, they are different types of video encoding.
NTSC has a smaller range of broadcasting pixels, but has a higher FPS rate while PAL has a broader range of active pixels, but has a smaller FPS rate.
However, when you take these two encodings and try to make them data (Binary 0's and 1's) it will not matter what the type of coding is. Due to the fact that they have a common bandwidth that makes data transmission work.
NTSC: 720x480 at 30 FPS = 10,368,000 and
PAL: 720x576 at 25 FPS = 10,368,000
