Help Modding Old Maps

Hey guys, how do you mod the old maps, what programs do I use?
to mod u can use pretty the basics, like HMT 3.5, HHT V5 and sparkedit
hmt stands for halomaptools and HHT is halo hacker tools, maybe u didnt know becuz ur new or some, i dunno, anyway's hope it helped u
