making custom reticules

ok in halo pc im trying to make a new gun reticule in paint shop pro 9 so i make it then i save it as a .dds DXT 1 (1 bit alpha) then when i try to import it into halo it says "image being injected must be DXT 1. whats wrong someone help.

For reticles you gotta save it as 32 bit ARGB with no mipmaps box checked.

Not all skins are DXT 1 you can tell what to save bitmaps by looking here:
