i need help with capture card

i have a dazzle DVC II and i pluged it all up and says its ready and i can see halo 2 on my computer but when i try to record it say this plgram has bla bla bla and has to exit out and its not the ileagal option one... lol for windows 98.... lol.... can some please help?
