Help Desperatly needed

I need help I have been trying to hook my xbox up to my pc using a hub and ethernet cables,but the computer isn't registering my xbox. I have looking in the removable drive I have looked in the my computer I have went to run F:\ but still nothing. Call me what you want I just want help and if you say go to the tutorials I already did and they didn't help much so could someone give me links to websites that are specific to my problem or just give me information. Any help would be apreciated. And could someone give me links to get software I need for modding?thanks
