Vista's UAC
Vista's UAC
Does anybody know how to REMOVE Windows Vista's UAC. I don't want to disable it or run it silenty...I want it removed completely from the system so that it's gone and done away with.

Re: Vista's UAC
I deleted it with vLite before installing Vista.
Re: Vista's UAC
Ok. That will help if I need to ever re-install it but for now is there a way to go about it while running it?mxrider108 wrote:I deleted it with vLite before installing Vista.

To be honest I haven't looked. I know there was a utility for XP called XPLite that allowed you to remove OS components post-installation, but I haven't heard of anything comparable for Vista. It's kinda funny how the very first thing ANYONE does after installing Vista is turn the damn UAC off!

Yes and its quiet simple too. Goto control panel, User Accounts, and there will be an option to turn User Account Control (UAC) off. Just click that and you will be asked if you are sure, just click yes and thats it.

Yes, but:
Also when you disable it it still puts an annoying warning icon in your systrey, which you have to take additional steps to hide. Microsoft doesn't seem to understand that if I intentionally did something, chances are I really wanted to do that thing.kibito87 wrote:I don't want to disable it or run it silenty...I want it removed completely from the system

You could post here waiting for hours/days, or you could take 2 minutes to Google it.neverSHOUTnever wrote:what is uac and what does it do.....

I know what you are saying, but there are still better ways they could have handled it in my opinion. Obviously something's wrong if everyone is disabling it right off the bat.Geo wrote:Microsoft doesn't know you intentionally did it.

It is there to protect your computer.
I see no serious reason to remove it. So what if you have to press enter every once in a long while.

Re: Vista's UAC
It's annoying when I want to run a every day program and being asked to do so every single time. I mean...come the fuck on...."Do you want to run firefox...". No, it's a virus and I accidentally installed it. I just see no point in having UAC. I've felt no more comfort with Vista than I did with XP. Cept XP didn't whine and complain when told to do something...This may not be the case for everyone but for me, i'd rather it just not be there...ever.xbox wrote:It is there to protect your computer.

It shouldn't be coming up when you use Firefox.
