Copy and Paste Problem

Post by DrXThirst »

This just started happening within the last month or two, and it hasn't really bothered me until the other day when I was writing a tutorial for Halo3Forum.

Anyways, what happens, is when I highlight something with my mouse, and then hit Ctrl+C, it copies it. However, if I highlight something with shift+arrow keys, then it copies it automatically.

So, if I'm in an AIM conversation and I go to type something but want to erase it and paste something from earlier, I hit "Shift+Home+Delete" to delete it, but it copies it so, when I hit Ctrl+V, it copies what I deleted. Which, sometimes, happens to be either fragments or stuff that I didn't want the other person to read.

Is there anyway to fix it?

i've never heard of this happening. try basic things like a virus/spyware scan, and if that fails, maybe a repair install from the repair cd would help. iirc, a repair install won't mess with any of your data, just OS files, but you may want to ask someone that's done it.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

How about you use CTRL + A for highlighting instead of SHIFT + HOME + DEL
...left for good
