Scen > verhicle swap usable for non map users?

I want to put verhicles in non verhicle maps , making use of the scen > verhicle swap with HHT.
However , is this usable with people that dont have the same map file as i do?

( using Halo PC )

I do believe they would need the same map file. Or else they won't have the weapons spawn. Coming from the xbox background, it would fall out of sync with your friends or rivals map.
