Halo 2 Split-Screen

Ok, this is newb, but when playing split-screen in halo with someone, how do you switch the split-screen from verticle to horizontal on the xbox 360?

I seriously can't figure it out.

Can you get the vertical look on the original Xbox? I tried changing views in the dash and in modded dashs, but they don't affect the game.

I believe I am set to widescreen already. I play on a 65 inch widescreen tv. :p

On both systems it should be in the system settings area.
