Xbox 360 Troubleshooting Anyone?

Well, as many of you may know my Xbox 360 has been giving me some issues. It won't read discs. Most of the time it gives me an Open Tray error. If not that then it gives me "please insert disc into an Xbox 360" console..literally it does. Which is really annoying. I was told to try the rubber band mod.. to make the open tray errors stop appearing but I couldn't get the rubber band in the right spot because i dont know where to put it at, in the right spot.

If anyone knows whats going on or how to replace a 360 DVD that would be HIGHLY appreciated. Oh and one more thing, does the hd-dvd drive read normal dvd's too? And should I get the elite if I can't fix this?

did you flash the drive? If so reflash. Also If you want to replace the dvd you need to dump the dvds firmware find the dvd key and insert it into your new dvd. If you dont the xbox wont detect it

I wouldnt get the elite if your having problems fixing it. It's just another way for microsoft to make money. It's really not that much better IMO.
